Hey Maddie, privacy is something I've been thinking about a lot. The first version will likely launch for Mac only, and all your data will be kept locally on your computer. When we launch for web/mobile and need to keep your data synced, I'm thinking of adopting a subscription model similar to Google Drive — you pay for how much data you're searching through. That way we can avoid selling data to advertisers.
As for who our early adopters will be, my hunch is that researchers/writers will get the most value. Especially those who already use Roam Research and other "second brain" tools. But there's still investigation that needs to be done on that front.
